About UFCW Local 617

Since its establishment in 1972, UFCW Local 617 has been proud to represent the hardworking food processing employees in Fort Madison, Iowa. Our facility has a rich history, having opened its doors as a result of the consolidation of Armour-Star facilities and welcoming employees from across the country, including Minnesota, Texas, Nebraska, and Missouri.

Over the decades, generations of UFCW Local 617 members have made our community their home, and through the power of collective bargaining, we have been able to secure strong contracts that ensure our members enjoy an excellent standard of living. With a deep commitment to the well-being of our members and our community, UFCW Local 617 remains steadfast in its mission to promote fairness, dignity and justice in the workplace.
